here are some extract from just one page of the fantasy book titled "Servant of the Bones" by Anne Rice and it really spoke to me...

One God

Purpose of Life

Be Kind

"Remember the poor, the hungry, and the miserable. Always remember the suffering, and those who need."
"To ease pain and give joy are your finest powers. Kindness is a human miracle so to speak."

alas... and to think people believes i'm wasting my time reading sci-fic and fantasy...
admittedly reading as a hobby started off as a form of escapism... but ironically the more i tried to get away from it the more i'm drawn into reality

where else can you get a glimpse of a person insight of the world based on his wealth of experience.... behind every far-fetched story hides the naked truth of the author(s) feelings, values and beliefs

ideas readers can perhaps disagree but yet always sympathise... for are we all so different after all?
